Microsoft has given a much easier way to shut down a Windows 8.1/10 tablet devices but this feature is kept disabled by default on a desktop. This feature is stored in the form of a hidden exe file somewhere in the C - drive.
When the exe file is launched, your lock screen will magically cover the top half of your screen. As the name of the tool suggests, just swipe the lock screen down, and your device will power down. This can serve as an alternative way to shutdown PC

To find this feature navigate to > C:\Windows\System32
But how about making a Hotkey to execute this task?
1) Right-click on the SlideToShutdown.exe and create a shortcut on the desktop
2) Right-click on the newly created shortcut and select Properties
3) Select the Shortcut tab and select the Shortcut key box
4) Enter the preferred key combination and click on Apply (make sure you select one which is not used elsewhere on your PC )
5) Click OK.
Using Slide to Shutdown
