USB boot is the process of using a USB storage device to boot or start a computer's operating system. It enables computer hardware to use a USB storage stick to get all essential system booting information and files rather than the standard/native hard disk or the CD drive.
In this tutorial, we are going to use Rufus software to make a bootable USB drive. There are many other ways to make a bootable drive but this software is most easy and convenient. It is also a lightweight freeware
STEP 1: Visit the official Rufus website
STEP 2: Scroll down and download the latest available version. The file size is not usually more than 1MB
STEP 3: After the download is complete run the software as Administrator and accept the UAC
STEP 4: Agree or disagree the Rufus update policy
STEP 5: You will then be presented with this dialog box
STEP 6: Plug in your USB drive
STEP 7: Your USB will be shown under the device. Change the File system to NTFS and you can add your personal volume name if you wish
STEP 8: Click the cd icon and browse for the iso file which you want to make bootable
STEP 9: Click and start and wait for the process to complete.This process may take time depending on the size of the iso file
STEP 10: After receiving confirmation message restart and boot into the USB drive and continue with your installation process
